On August 19, the board of trustees of Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) gathered at Levine Children's Hospital for a luncheon and tour. The charitable giving arm of Speedway Motorsports Inc., SCC committed $350,000 last year to support the building of the new hospital.

In recognition of the gift from Speedway Children's Charities, a family lounge on the 8th level of Levine Children's Hospital is designated in the organization's honor. The area is configured to provide privacy and togetherness for families whose children are being treated on the “progressive care” floor.
