El 10 de octubre, la 14° carrera anual Hopebuilders 5K, presentada por Babson Capital Management, estableció un nuevo récord raising a net total of $135,000 for Levine Children's Hospital (LCH).  The premier fundraising event for LCH also attracted a record number of supporters as over 1,800 from the community turned out for the 5K run/walk and the Family Fun Festival. This year's event welcomed everyone from corporate sponsors to competitive runners, fitness walkers, and family teams. Many of whom were there to walk or run in honor or memory of special children in their lives. 

Congratulations to all of our top fundraisers. Maura O'Toole, who raised $4,245, received the North Highland Community Cup as the top individual fundraiser. The top fundraising team award went to the LCH Family Advisory Council. The team who has won multiple years raised $14,166 for our children! Other top fundraising individuals and teams include: Julie Cobb, David Secrest, the North Highland Company, Caroline Johnston, Martha Whitecotton, Ashley Hardy, Leto Powell, Emily Arthur, Debbie Dixon, Team Chloe Johnston, Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas, Kelsey's Crusaders, the LCH Administration team, Team LiveWELL Carolinas, Russell O'Neal, and Aldyn's All-Stars.

This year's Hopebuilders event featured a new route through Myers Park, as well as a Family Festival featuring a Fun Run and special appearances from Sir Purr, the Knights' “Homer,” the Chick-fil-A cow, and media partners Lite102.9 and WSOC-TV. In addition, drumSTRONG participants kept the beat, engaging the crowd as they drummed throughout the festival.
