EL PRESIDENTE OBAMA SE REUNIÓ CON UNO DE NUESTROS NIÑOS EN LA CASA BLANCA
Katlin Watts (en el círculo arriba) conoció al Presidente Obama en su último viaje a Washington, D.C.
A child from Indian Trail had the opportunity to meet President Barack Obama during a visit to the White House with Children's Miracle Network's Champions Across America. Thirteen-year-old Katlin Watts toured the White House and met the President, who then invited Katlin and other children to the playground on the South Lawn. In addition to the White House visit, the Champions had the chance to visit with their senators and congressmen during a luncheon at Capitol Hill.
Katlin, currently a 7th-grader, had the opportunity to meet President Obama while participating in Champions Across America presented by Wal-mart and Sam's Club. The program recognizes the 17 million children treated each year at Children's Miracle Network hospitals across the country. Champions Across America designates a Champion child in every state who has bravely battled a serious injury or illness. Katlin, the North Carolina Champion, is currently being treated at Levine Children's Hospital for sickle cell anemia and asthma.
Wal-Mart's support for Children's Miracle Network began in 1987. Since then, Wal-mart and Sam's Club associates, customers and members have raised and contributed more than $460 million for Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
