Bailarines del N.C. Dance Theatre interpretan El Cascanueces para los pacientes
The gift of dance came to the new Levine Children's Hospital on Friday, Dec. 7.
Members of the N.C. Dance Theatre (NCDT) stepped off the stage and into the LCH Atrium, where they were the first group to entertain young patients and their families in the hospital's 'performance area.' Children who were unable to leave their rooms watched the dancers on closed circuit television. Following the program, the troupe made special stops at several patient rooms throughout the facility.
The appearance was made possible by Levine Children's Hospital's corporate sponsorship of NCDT's production of The Nutcracker, which opens Dec. 13 at the N.C. Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.
'For the third year in a row, dreams have brought our two organizations together: the Nutcracker's dream world of fantasy and dance, and our dream of a new dedicated children's hospital in Charlotte,' said Michael Rose, President of Carolinas HealthCare Foundation. 'We are excited to continue this partnership.'
