Benjamin Peeler, M.D., es un cirujano cardiotorácico que se especializa en cirugía congénita pediátrica neonatal.

El Dr. Peeler se graduó de la Wake Forest University y asistió a la facultad de medicina en la Vanderbilt University. Luego de la facultad de medicina, el Dr. Peeler completó su residencia de cirugía general en hospitales afiliados a la Vanderbilt University. Después de la residencia, el Dr. Peeler continuó su vasta capacitación en cirugía en el University of Virginia Health Sciences Center, como becario en cirugía torácica y cardiovascular y cirugía vascular. El Dr. Peeler concluyó su exhaustiva beca en la Emory University, con una tercera beca en cirugía cardiotorácica pediátrica.

Antes de incorporarse al Instituto Cardiovascular Sanger en noviembre de 2009, el Dr. Peeler fue Director de Cirugía del Virginia Children's Heart Center en la Universidad de Virginia, en Charlottesville. También dirigió el programa de cirugía cardíaca pediátrica de la Facultad de Medicina de Virginia, en Richmond y practicó cirugías en el Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters en Norfolk. Ha publicado más de 30 manuscritos, seis capítulos de libros y múltiples compendios, además de participar en numerosas actividades docentes y de presentarse en conferencias en todo el país.
