Torneo de golf honra la memoria de una niña especial
Jenna's Legacy of Smiles Golf Tournament was held on Monday, July 30, at Fort Mill Golf Club. More than 80 golfers turned out to honor the life of Jenna Witherspoon, who passed away in 2006 after a two-year battle with cancer. The inaugural event raised more than $7,400 to benefit Levine Children's Hospital, scheduled to open this October. Proceeds from the tournament will help support a room named in Jenna's honor in the new hospital.
Diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2004, Jenna underwent five brain surgeries at the Children's Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center. She fought her disease bravely and never lost her smile. Now, her spirit lives on through the Legacy of Smiles Golf Tournament. 'She taught all around her the meaning of faith, hope, courage, and strength,' said Jenna's mom, Tricia. 'Her legacy to all who loved her is her spirit that was always present in her never-ending smile.'
Thanks to the Witherspoon family and the Legacy of Smiles Golf Tournament for their support and dedication to Jenna's memory.
